“Children and Grief” Announced as a 2014 Notable Video for Children

We were thrilled to be informed this week that Professor Child’s film “Children and Grief’ is a 2014 Notable Video for Children awarded through the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). This list includes the best children’s videos produced during 2013. We are one of 17 films to be included on the prestigious list.

The Notable Children’s Videos list includes materials for children 14 years of age and younger of especially commendable quality that demonstrate respect for young people’s intelligence and imagination; exhibit venturesome creativity; and reflect and encourage the interests of children and young adolescents in exemplary ways.

The ALA states that the film “Children and Grief”  “is powerful and emotional, this documentary-style film features children sharing about the loss of a loved one.  A difficult and painful subject is humanized and made accessible through the honesty and bravery of the young people interviewed.”

We thank everyone who helped in the making of this film. Most importantly, the brave children who shared their inspiring stories. Thank you from the bottom of our hears.
