The following “Children and Divorce” film review was written by Rosalind Sedacca the founder of Child-Centered Divorce Network.
Children Teaching Children About Divorce is a new film produce by parents at www.ProfessorChild.com. Listening to eight children sharing their personal experiences about their parents’ divorce is moving and enlightening. The topics addressed cover the most important issues for kids coping with divorce, including: their biggest worries, what’s changed about their lives, dealing with parental conflict, things that help, hopes and dreams, dealing with step parents and step-siblings, advice to other kids and most significant of all – advice to parents. From the mouths of children, we get an inside perspective on their fears, challenges, insecurities, coping skills and capacity to adjust to changes beyond their control. The film offers hope and deep insight into how parents can make better choices to help their own children transition through and after divorce in the best possible way. I highly recommend this film, and the free companion workbook, as valuable tools for divorcing parents and divorce professionals as they move through the divorce maze with children.
